Additional Age Relaxation for Specific Posts
- Posts advertised in 2023: Candidates who exceed the maximum age limit as of 01.07.2025 are eligible for 1-year relaxation in the upper age limit.
- Posts advertised in 2020-21 or earlier: Candidates who exceed the maximum age limit as of 01.07.2025 are eligible for 3-year relaxation in the upper age limit.

Educational Qualification for RPSC Assistant Professor
For Posts 1 to 27 (General Subjects)
Candidates must meet one of the following criteria:

Master’s Degree:
- Minimum Marks: 55% (or equivalent grade in a point-scale grading system) in the concerned/relevant/allied subject from an Indian University or an equivalent degree from an accredited foreign university.
- NET/SLET/SET: Must have cleared the National Eligibility Test (NET) conducted by UGC/CSIR or a similar test accredited by UGC (e.g., SLET/SET).
- Ph.D. Holders: Exempted from NET/SLET/SET if the Ph.D. degree was awarded in accordance with UGC regulations (2009 or 2016) and meets the following conditions:
- Ph.D. awarded in regular mode.
- Thesis evaluated by at least two external examiners.
- Open viva voce conducted.
- Two research papers published from the Ph.D. work, with at least one in a refereed journal.
- Two papers presented at conferences/seminars sponsored by UGC/ICSSR/CSIR or similar agencies.

Candidates must meet one of the following criteria:

- Minimum Marks: 55% (or equivalent grade) in the relevant subject from an Indian/foreign university.
- NET/SLET/SET: Must have cleared NET/CSIR or a similar test accredited by UGC (e.g., SLET/SET).

- Highly commendable professional achievement, including:

Relaxation in Educational Qualifications
- 5% relaxation in marks (at Bachelor’s and Master’s levels) for candidates belonging to:
- Scheduled Castes (SC)
- Scheduled Tribes (ST)
- More Backward Classes (MBC)
- Backward Classes (BC) (Non-Creamy Layer)
- Differently-abled candidates (as defined under The Rights of Persons with Disabilities Act, 2016).
SLET/SET Validity
- SLET/SET passed before 01.06.2002: Valid from any state.
- SLET/SET passed on or after 01.06.2002: Only valid if passed in Rajasthan.
Nationality and Domicile Requirements
Nationality
- Candidates must be Indian citizens.
Domicile
- Reserved Category Benefits (SC/ST/OBC/MBC/EWS/Ex-Servicemen): Applicable only to candidates who are permanent residents of Rajasthan.
- Exception: Women from other states who marry a Rajasthan resident after marriage are not eligible for reserved category benefits (as per Supreme Court and Rajasthan High Court rulings).

Important Notes on Age Relaxation
- Non-Cumulative: Only one category of age relaxation is applicable. Multiple relaxations cannot be combined.
- Special Cases:
- Divorcees/Deserted Women: Must submit a court decree by the last date of application to avail category change.
- Persons with Disabilities: Additional 5-year relaxation is provided after applying other applicable relaxations.
Other Requirements for RPSC Assistant Professor
Physical Fitness
- Candidates must be medically fit as per the standards prescribed by the Rajasthan Government.
- A medical certificate from a competent authority must be submitted at the time of appointment.
Character and Antecedents
- Candidates must submit a character certificate from their last educational institution, stating "Good" conduct.
- A police verification certificate must be submitted at the time of appointment, confirming no criminal record that would disqualify them from government service.
Number of Children
- Candidates with more than two children as of 01.06.2002 are ineligible for appointment.

Government Employees

Ex-Servicemen
