RPSC Deputy Commandant Age Limit
The age limit for the RPSC Deputy Commandant exam as of 1st January 2026 is:
- Minimum Age: 20 years
- Maximum Age: 40 years
Note:
- Candidates who were overage as of 1st January 2021 (for the 2020 advertisement) but meet the age criteria as of 1st January 2026 are eligible for a 3-year relaxation in the upper age limit.
- The age is calculated based on the date mentioned above, and no other date will be considered for age calculation.
RPSC Deputy Commandant Educational Qualification
Mandatory Qualifications:

Ex-Captain from the Indian Army
- Includes officers retired or resigned from the Army.
- Includes officers released or demobilized from Emergency or Short Service Commission.

Working Knowledge of Hindi
- Must be written in Devanagari Script.
- Must have knowledge of Rajasthan Culture.
Note:
- Candidates must have retired or completed service from the Indian Army by the last date of application.
- Candidates applying on the basis of a No Objection Certificate (NOC) must retire or complete service within one year from the last date of application and must upload the NOC.
- Ex-servicemen below the rank of Captain are not eligible to apply.
RPSC Deputy Commandant Nationality and Domicile Requirements
Nationality:
- Candidates must be Indian citizens.
Domicile:
- Reserved Category Benefits (SC/ST/OBC/MBC/EWS/Ex-Servicemen):
- Only applicable to permanent residents of Rajasthan.
- Candidates from other states applying under reserved categories will be considered under the General (Unreserved) category.
Special Note for Married Women:
- Women from other states who acquire Rajasthan domicile post-marriage are not eligible for reserved category benefits (SC/ST/OBC/MBC/EWS) in public employment. They must apply under the General category.
RPSC Deputy Commandant Age Relaxation

Important Notes on Age Relaxation:
- Age relaxation provisions are non-cumulative. Candidates can avail only one type of relaxation.
- Ex-servicemen who have already availed benefits for a government post in Rajasthan are not eligible for further relaxation.
- Government employees must ensure their age does not exceed 60 years on the date of appointment.
RPSC Deputy Commandant Other Requirements
Physical and Medical Standards:
- Candidates must be medically fit as per the standards prescribed by the appointing authority.
- A medical certificate from a competent authority must be submitted post-selection, confirming the candidate is fit for state service.
Character and Conduct:
- Candidates must submit a character certificate from their last educational institution, stating their conduct as "Good."
- A police verification certificate must be submitted post-selection, confirming no criminal record that would disqualify them from state service.
Family Planning Norms:
- Candidates with more than two children as of 1st June 2002 are not eligible for appointment.
- Exceptions:
- If the number of children does not increase after 1st June 2002.
- If a single delivery results in multiple children (counted as one unit).
- Children with disabilities are not counted.
- Widows and Divorcee/Deserted Women are exempt from this rule.

Caste Certificate (for SC/ST/OBC/MBC/EWS):
- Must be issued on or before the last date of application.
- For married women, the certificate must be based on father’s name and residence.

Income and Asset Certificate (for EWS):
- Must include the candidate’s and father’s name, issued by a competent authority.

Ex-servicemen Certificate:
- Must include a No Objection Certificate (NOC) if applying on that basis.
- Must confirm retirement or completion of service within one year of the last date of application.

Widow/Divorcee/Deserted Women Certificate:
- Widows: Must submit a death certificate of husband and linking documents (e.g., marriage certificate, ration card, child’s birth certificate).
- Divorcee/Deserted Women: Must submit a court decree issued on or before the last date of application.

Disability Certificate (for PwD candidates):
- Must be issued by a competent medical authority with 40% or more disability.
- Certificates issued after 1st March 2024 must be generated through the UDID/Swavlamban Portal.

Marriage Registration Certificate:
- Mandatory for all candidates as per government norms.

No Objection Certificate (NOC) for Government Employees:
- Must be submitted if the candidate is already employed in a central/state government or public sector undertaking.
Additional Notes:
- Candidates must ensure all documents are valid and submitted within the stipulated time.
- False information or suppression of facts may lead to disqualification and legal action under Section 217 of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita, 2023.
- Candidates debarred from any examination by RPSC/UPSC/other recruiting agencies are not eligible to apply.
RPSC Deputy Commandant Selection Process
The selection process for the RPSC Deputy Commandant exam consists of the following stages:

Written Examination:
- Total Marks: 150
- Duration: 2 hours and 30 minutes
- Subject: General Knowledge & General Science
- Negative Marking: 1/3rd marks deducted for each wrong answer.

Interview:
- Total Marks: 15
- Candidates who qualify the written examination will be called for an interview based on the cutoff marks decided by the RPSC.
Note:
- The final merit list will be prepared based on the combined marks of the written examination and interview.
- The RPSC reserves the right to adopt scaling/moderation/normalization methods if required.

How to Apply for RPSC Deputy Commandant 2025

One Time Registration (OTR):
- Candidates must register on the RPSC Recruitment Portal via the SSO Portal.
- OTR requires details such as name, father’s name, date of birth, gender, educational qualifications, and Aadhaar card details.

Filling the Online Application Form:
- Log in to the Recruitment Portal using OTR credentials.
- Fill in the application form with personal, educational, and category details.
- Upload a live photograph, signature, and unique mark.

- General/OBC (Creamy Layer)/MBC (Creamy Layer): ₹600
- Reserved Categories (SC/ST/OBC-Non Creamy Layer/MBC-Non Creamy Layer/EWS/Saharia Tribe): ₹400

Submission and Printout:
- Submit the application form and take a printout for future reference.
Note:
- Candidates can modify their application form within 10 days after the last date of application by paying a fee of ₹800.
- No modifications will be allowed after this period.

RPSC Deputy Commandant Syllabus
