Rajasthan Patwari Eligibility Criteria 2025: Age Limit, Qualification & Computer Certificate

To apply for the Rajasthan Patwari Recruitment Examination 2025, candidates must satisfy all eligibility conditions prescribed by the Rajasthan Staff Selection Board (RSSB / RSMSSB) under the Rajasthan Land Revenue (Subordinate Services) Rules. Eligibility is assessed across educational qualifications, recognized computer proficiency, age boundaries, category relaxations, and character standards.

Fulfilling the required criteria as on the crucial cut-off date is mandatory. Candidates who do not possess the requisite qualifications or computer certificates on or before the designated eligibility deadlines risk disqualification during the Document Verification (DV) stage.

1. Educational Qualifications

According to the official detailed notification issued by RSSB, every applicant must possess the following minimum qualifications:

1. Graduation Degree:

   • A Bachelor’s Degree in any discipline (Arts, Science, Commerce, Agriculture, Engineering, Law, etc.) from a university established by law in India, or any equivalent qualification recognized by the Government.
   • Appearing Candidates: Candidates appearing in the final year of their Bachelor's degree are permitted to apply online. However, they must produce evidence of having passed the final degree examination prior to the date of the Patwari written examination (or prior to the document verification phase as notified by the Board).

2. Language & Cultural Requirement:

   • Working knowledge of Hindi written in Devanagari script.
   • Practical understanding and knowledge of Rajasthani dialects, customs, and culture.

2. Computer Qualification Requirements (Mandatory)

In addition to graduation, a candidate MUST possess at least ONE of the following recognized computer certifications or diplomas:

• RS-CIT (Rajasthan State Certificate in Information Technology): Conducted by Vardhman Mahaveer Open University (VMOU), Kota under the supervision of Rajasthan Knowledge Corporation Limited (RKCL).
• NIELIT / DOEACC Certification: "O" Level or higher-level certification conducted by the National Institute of Electronics & Information Technology (formerly DOEACC).
• COPA / DPCS: Computer Operator & Programming Assistant (COPA) / Data Preparation and Computer Software (DPCS) certificate issued under the National Council for Vocational Training (NCVT) or State Council for Vocational Training (SCVT).
• Degree / Diploma in Computer Science / Computer Applications:
  • BCA, MCA, B.Sc. (Computer Science / IT), M.Sc. (Computer Science / IT), PGDCA from any recognized university.
• Engineering Degree / Diploma:
  • Degree in Engineering & Technology (B.E. / B.Tech) in any branch from a recognized institution.
  • Diploma in Computer Science and Engineering from a polytechnic institution recognized by the government.
• Senior Secondary with Computer Subject: Higher Secondary (10+2) with Computer Science / Computer Application as one of the optional subjects.

[!IMPORTANT] The computer certificate course (such as RS-CIT) must be completed before the date of the written examination or document verification as stipulated in the official notification. Candidates without a valid computer qualification will not be eligible for final appointment.

3. Age Limits & Crucial Cut-Off Date

The age of the candidate is evaluated strictly as on the benchmark cut-off date: 01 January 2026.

• Minimum Age: 18 Years (Candidate must have completed 18 years on or before 01.01.2026).
• Maximum Age: 40 Years (Candidate must not have attained 40 years of age on 01.01.2026).

Category-Wise Upper Age Relaxations

As per the Rajasthan State Government reservation rules, upper age limits are relaxed for candidates belonging to specific categories:

[!NOTE] Candidates belonging to reserved categories (SC, ST, OBC, MBC, EWS) from states other than Rajasthan will be treated as General candidates and will not be entitled to fee concessions or age relaxations.

4. Domicile & Nationality Guidelines

• Nationality: The applicant must be a Citizen of India, a subject of Nepal, or a subject of Bhutan.
• Rajasthan Domicile: Candidates claiming benefits of vertical reservation (SC/ST/OBC/MBC/EWS) or horizontal reservation (Ex-Servicemen, Sports, PwD) must possess a valid Digital Bonafide Resident Certificate (मूल निवास प्रमाण पत्र) issued by an authorized Rajasthan revenue officer.
• TSP Area Eligibility: For recruitment against the 522 Scheduled Area (TSP) vacancies, candidates must be bonafide special residents of the notified Scheduled Areas of Rajasthan and possess a valid Special Domicile Certificate (विशेष मूल निवास प्रमाण पत्र).

5. Other Mandatory Conditions

• Character Certificates: The selected candidate must present:
  • One character certificate issued by the Head of the Institution/College last attended.
  • Two separate character certificates issued by responsible persons / Gazetted Officers not related to the candidate, issued not more than six months prior to document verification.
• Disqualification on Polygamy / Children Rules:
  • Candidates having more than two living children on or after 01 June 2002 are ineligible for government appointment in Rajasthan (subject to standard state relaxations for disabled children and twin births).
  • Candidates who have entered into or contracted a marriage with a person having a living spouse, or who having a spouse has entered into another marriage, are disqualified.
