Rajasthan Patwari Exam Pattern 2025: Marking Scheme, Duration & 5th Option Rules

The Rajasthan Staff Selection Board (RSSB / RSMSSB) conducts the Rajasthan Patwari Recruitment Examination as an offline, pen-and-paper, OMR-based objective test. The written paper is structured into five distinct units covering general awareness, state heritage, languages, analytical reasoning, and computers:

Negative Marking Mechanics

Accuracy is paramount in the Patwari exam due to the strict penalty for incorrect answers:

• Correct Answer: Candidates receive +2.00 marks for every question answered correctly.

1. Five Options per Question:

   • Every question on the question paper and OMR sheet features five circular bubbles: (A), (B), (C), (D), and (E).
   • Options (A) to (D) represent the four possible correct answers.
   • Option (E) denotes "Question Not Attempted" (अनुत्तरित प्रश्न).

2. Compulsory Darkening of Option 'E':

   • If a candidate decides not to answer or attempt a question, they MUST darken circle (E) using a blue ballpoint pen.
   • No question should be left with all five circles blank.

3. Penalty for Leaving Blank:

   • If a candidate leaves all five circles blank for any question, 1/3rd mark (0.66 marks) will be deducted from their total score, exactly as if they had answered incorrectly.

4. Disqualification Clause (>10% Blank Bubbles):

   • If a candidate leaves more than 10% of the total questions (i.e., more than 15 questions out of 150) with none of the five circles darkened, the candidate is automatically disqualified from the examination and their OMR sheet will not be evaluated.

5. Additional 10 Minutes Time:

   • The examination duration is 3 hours. To facilitate the verification and darkening of the 5th option, RSSB provides an additional 10 minutes at the conclusion of the exam.

Shift Normalization Procedure

When the Patwari exam is scheduled across multiple days or shifts (as was done in 2021 across 4 shifts and in 2025 across 2 shifts), variations in paper difficulty are scientifically balanced through a Statistical Normalization Formula:
